Makalu Trek - 22 Days

Trip Overview

Makalu trekking in eastern Nepal is protected by the Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Project. Established in 1992, it covers 2330 sq km. Among the 16 mountains in the park, it is home to Makalu, the fifth highest mountain in the world (8463m/ 27,766ft).

The world's fifth highest mountain. Formerly a restricted area, it spans five major ecological zones where can be found the lush, tropical Arun Valley, dense forests or rhododendron and fir and alpine meadows that lead to the might Barun glacier. From the base camp, any one can view the spectacular Mt. Makalu.

This mainly low altitude trek is centered on the Arun Valley, in eastern Nepal. The sub-tropical valley floor of the mighty Arun River is in places densely forested, contrasting with the terraced slopes higher up, which are farmed by villagers of diverse tribal groups. High pastures typify the upper slopes, which border on the Makalu-Barun National Park, an important conservation area for many threatened species.

The trails rise from 850 meters (2,788ft) to 5000 meters (16,900ft) above sea level.

Hi Babu,
It wasn´t the first or the second trip - It was the third (-: And for sure, a pleasure to meet you guys again. The trip, as the last two times, was pretty amazing and an experience that i wouldn´t miss. I will not talk about your professional acting in guiding and explaining for us guys - i would like to thank you for an adventure, for memories i will never forget, for an amusing time with the porters and guides and for a lot of nice pics to show my friends. It was a great time also for my travelmates - thats for sure (-: But there is no need for worries - we will see us next year again. Thank you again Regards

Dear all,
"On behalf of my own (Maciej Jurczyk) and my son (Mateusz Jurczyk) I would like to thank You for providing and organising a magnificant trekking journey. The adventure provided a lot of expreriences and positive emotions. We were able to experience new culture, new cousine as well as marvellous landscapes and views. Thanks to our lovely and professional guides (Ram and Mile) we felt safe and comfortable and were able to discover the Nepalese culture. They were very helpful and always there for us to help. We will definately recommend those two guides to all our friends who will decide to visit Nepal in the future." Thank you once again. Best regards
