We really enjoyed our trek from Lukla to Gokyo-ri, returning to Namche via Tengboche – brilliant views of Everest in many places. Jeevan our guide was excellent, I hope that he is still enjoying using my old mp3 player, as was Shambu the porter – always smiling, never once complaining, even though he was carrying two sets of luggage. We were met promptly on arrival at both Kathmandu and Lukla and supported until we returned back to Kathmandu airport for the flight home. There was sufficient flexibility in the trek arrangements to allow my wife and I to see our daughter at Machermo, spend some time with her over the next four days and visit Photse and Tengboche as a detour on the return leg.
