We had a lovely trek in langtang national park and did both the Langtang trek as well as Gosaikunda. I highly recommend unique path. Babu made sure all the logistics run smoothly and suresh is the best guide. I can’t wait to go again. This is my fourth time in Nepal with babu and guide suresh khanal. And it was a wonderful experience. Suresh and I did the anapurna circuit with a side trip to tilicho lake and then a friend joined us from India and we toured Pokhara and lumbini and ended with a mountain flight in Kathmandu. Babu took care of all the logistics and suresh took great care of me during the trek. The scenery was varied and spectacular on the Annapurna circuit and I think it is my favorite trek yet. I would not hesitate to recommend babu and suresh for a trip to Nepal. I just came back from my third trip to Nepal with unique path. This time we went to the Mardi himal trek, a tour of Pokhara and a safari in chitwan. I had a wonderful time and everything was well arranged and I had a wonderful time. I just returned from a wonderful hike to Everest base camp with helicopter return. I was traveling solo am so grateful to Manager Babu and guide Suresh for looking after me. It is a trip I will remember the rest of my life. We started with a half day tour of Kathmandu and then flew to lukla on the next day to begin the trek. All the arrangements were made ahead of time and the folks unique path team constantly got on the phone to make sure the logistics went smoothly. Suresh kept a moderate pace and a great sense of humor. We made good time throughout the hikes and always got to the lodges on time and in daylight with energy left for the next day. The weather also cooperated this March and we had beautiful sunny skies and gorgeous Mountain View’s throughout the trek. I really could not ask for anything more and would very much recommend unique path. We spent a total of 14 days trekking with Suresh. Great guy, infectious laugh. What we didn't like so much: - During the pre-planning phase, we requested a guide specifically trained to work with animals. This was promised, but it wasn't the case. I now believe that such a guide simply doesn't exist. We would have appreciated more honesty and that it's just not possible. - During the trek, we caught a really bad case of vomiting and diarrhea, and one evening I literally made my way back to the hut vomiting and defecating. Unfortunately, we were pressured to leave very early the next day instead of being offered the possibility of extending the trek by a day. When the weather deteriorated later and our guide became increasingly ill, this was offered, even though we were feeling relatively well again. Babu was always quick and ready to answer my queries. Suresh, my guide cum porter exceeded my expectations. Suresh never fails to give his best everyday. He always goes the extra mile to ensure I’m comfortable and well as we continue ascending to ABC. Suresh always puts me first before himself at every circumstance. My safety was always his top priority. His guidance and knowledge about the trail is what that makes him an exceptional guide. These 8 days in the mountain will forever be my favourite days of my life and the memories made will never be forgotten. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. The team came recommended to us and was well coordinated throughout. Since Day 0, Mr Babu has been very patient and prompt in answering our queries. Not to mention, in a very organised fashion, too, which sealed the deal as decision-making was so easy! During the trek, we were very well cared for by our guide Ishwor and porter, also named Babu. Ishwor is an experienced guide who shared useful knowledge about the region. What impressed us was his excellent pacing and knowledge of the terrain. He managed our expectations very well, so we were able to enjoy the trek without being overwhelmed by the daily hours of trekking. We also appreciated his infectious positive energy and encouragement throughout. Even in Kathmandu, Ishwor was very helpful with navigation and recommendations for food and laundry, knowing that it was our first time in Nepal. The entire journey was coordinated smoothly and efficiently. We are especially grateful to the team for patiently addressing all our questions during the preparation phase, which gave us great confidence before the trip began. The accommodations in Kathmandu were comfortable, and the teahouses along the trek were well-arranged. Ishwor consistently went the extra mile to ensure that our needs were well taken care of, especially during our rest periods. We were able to fully focus on the journey and immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature. Ishwor did an excellent job sharing insights about the region, while pacing our trek carefully to ensure proper acclimatization. He was incredibly patient and encouraging, allowing us to catch our breath when needed, while still ensuring we reached each destination safely and made our way back down to Lukla then Kathmandu without issues. A special thanks as well to our sherpa Babu, who ensured our belongings were safely and promptly transported between stops. It was always reassuring to arrive at each teahouse knowing our gear was already there, ready for the night’s rest. They also arranged pickup from the airport in Kathmandu and for departure. The day before the hike we met with the managing director and our guide to go through details for the trip. Everything was well planned and organized before hand which felt reassuring and made us relax from the start. Our guide, Ishwor, and porter, Ramesh, were a good team who knew each other well and worked well together. Together they made the hike a pleasant and smooth experience for us, including getting us to the top of Tserko Ri - which was one of the toughest things we have done and a great achievement for us! Ishwor, in addition to having good knowledge of the trail, the nature and wildlife, is a very friendly and easy going guy, who makes an exceptionally good egg curry! He went to great lengths to make sure we got the best at every turn, quickly learning our preferences. He made adjustments in the route along the way in accordance with our pace and wishes. He was exceptionally mindful of my fear of cows, walking between me and every cow we encountered along the way! Ramesh had the dubious honor of carrying all our belongings all the way to Kyanjin Gomba and back (and my husbands daypack to the top of Tserko Ri) which he did with surprising ease and good humor, and no sign of exhaustion whatsoever. He too is very friendly, attentive and service minded. We stayed in teahouses and simple hotels along our route, huddled together around an oven, always with a pot of water on top, during the afternoon, and had many servings of tasty chapati omelet and dal baht along the way, not to mention numerous cups of ginger lemon honey tea (provided they had fresh lemons, Ishwor always checked). The menu was mostly the same everywhere and also included pancakes, pasta, soup and rice dishes. The rooms were not heated and we were very grateful for our all season sleeping bags. No fancy hotels or restaurants anywhere here - and that’s an important part of the unique experience! Summed up we had a once in a lifetime trip - amazing landscape, views, weather, encounters and people all the way - and it wouldn’t have been the same without Ishwor and Ramesh 🙏 We can safely recommend Unique Path to everyone who wants to go hiking in Nepal. Not only do you get a carefree and well organized trip, but also insight into the nature, culture and everyday life of Nepal through your guide and porter. Read more... Read less
