Tamor River Rafting

One of the best experiences to experience in the impressive and powerful river is the Tamor River Rafting. Beginning around Kanchenjunga, the Tamor River is a major river in eastern Nepal. The Tamor and the Arun join the Sun Koshi at Triveni Ghat to form the giant Saptakoshi. Spatakoshi flows through Mahabharat Range onto the Gangetic plain. Tamur is the sixth-largest river in Nepal. In addition, it is among one of the popular rivers which are highly suitable for adventure and water sports. Similarly, rafting is a popular sport carried out in this river. This river showcases the scenario of the Eastern part of Nepal. Besides, you will come to witness the life of a peaceful place that is untouched by modernization on the way to the raft. Therefore, the sides of the valley are wooded, with few villages and a glimpse of hills and natural landscapes along the way.

This river rafting is best suited to those with a sense of adventure and those who are seeking something different from the rivers of Nepal. In addition, if you are into an extreme adventure to the river of Nepal, then Tamur is the best option for you. The rivers in Nepal are directly flown from the Himalayas making it an ideal place for rafting. On the other hand, the Tamur river rafting can ideally be combined with trips to Chitwan National Park or treks in the Kanchenjunga region. In addition, the river has excellent beaches for camping. Besides, you will explore plenty of wildlife on the way, various species of birds. However, rafting in the Tamur river gives you the feeling of a wilderness expedition. The rapids are huge for grades 4 and 5- which are challenging and exhilarating. The volume of water ensures non-stop river action.

This trek takes you along the top of a 3000-meter ridge through beautiful woods and meadows. Similarly, this trip provides you with a view of magnificent Kanchenjunga, Makalu, and the Everest Massif in the far distance. Similarly, the trek lets you enjoy the alluring chirping sound of the birds through the lush vegetation of the thick rhododendron forest as well as the verdant meadows towards the heart of Eastern Nepal.

The rafting at Tamor starts from an early drive from Kathmandu to Basantapur via Dharan. From Basantapur, start trekking for about 5 hours to Mangalbare. Similarly, from Mangalore trek for another 5 hours to reach Guphapokhari. Likewise, pass through several places in Gorjha, Dobhan and finally get ready to have a wonderful rating experience at Tamor river. Rafting at Tamor takes you to camp at the bank of Kabali Dobhan, Koya, Dumre, Triveni Ghat, and finally to Chatara.
