Trekkers are offered comfortable lodging at tea houses and lodges along the trail, where they may interact with the hospitable Sherpas and other ethnic communities while savouring Nepali cuisine like dal bhat tarkari. The optimum trekking seasons for this are spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) for the EBC Three Passes Budget Trek. One of the great attractions of the walk is the enormous Nozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in the Himalayas. Gokyo Lake trek, which is thought to be a challenging trek, offers an alternative to the typical Everest Base Camp journey.
