The Friendship Highway is an important artery of commerce, it is also Tibet’s most popular tourist route. Enjoy fabulous mountain scenery enroute, visit mystical Buddhist monasteries of Tashilungpo at Shigatse, the Kumbum Stupa at Gyantse, and drive past the beautiful Turquoise lake. This route gives you a glimpse of both the Tibetan and Nepali culture. We’ll pass small Tibetan settlements, nomadic herdsmen wandering across the wide arid plains and awe-inspiring mountain peaks. Equally as fascinating is the wealth of cultural interest and we will have plenty of opportunity to explore this side of Tibet, both in Lhasa and the other towns we pass through on our journey.

The Friendship Highway (also known as the Arniko Highway) is an important artery of commerce, it is also Tibet’s most popular tourist route. It was built in the mid-1960s and to link the valleys to the south of the Tsangpo and it follows the ancient trade route from Lhasa to Kathmandu.

Thank you to Babu and Rupesh for our amazing trek! Rupesh had the patience of a saint and helped us all achieve what we wanted to from our trip. I would definitely recommend the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek for those wanting to test the trekking waters, although challenging for those at a low fitness level it was unbelievably rewarding with many spectacular moments. It has given us a taste for more – so, next year we will challenge ourselves again!

This has been our second trek with Unique Path Trekking in the last 3 years and the service could not have been any better. This year we went on an 18 day camping trek to Manasalu. Ram, Tilac and the support crew displayed great professionalism in there work and showed concern for our well being throughout the trek. Let me describe the 18 day trek in a few words: warm, hot, sunny, raining, slippery, cold, hard, tiring, harder, challenging, informative, wet, very warm, snowing, freezing, full moon, clear starry nights, extremely hard, peaceful, windy, enjoyable, exhilarating, and LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF IT. Also the arrangements for our visit to Chitwan and Pokhara were wonderful. Thank you again to Babu and everyone involved with making this trek a great adventure.

Babu….I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the trek we took with Ram and Sannu (spelling) …. without them and all of their careful guiding we would not have had much success. Ram was very aware of all of us and our limitations and how we were doing…I do not think any of us were aware of the effects of the high altitude and how exhausting the hiking could be at those heights…..Ram was great…easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, very well organized, very much in control, and a very nice person to be around. Though I did not have any real problems, he was very sensitive to the health and well-being of everyone…and when there was a need he was there…..including finding horses for those in our group that were having problems getting down…. I think that Sannu has the ability to be an exceptional guide…under Ram guidance he was a great help…high energy, great spirit, always a happy face and ready to help….he does need to learn English in a serious way…without this skill he will always be limited to an assistant role, when his personality is one that would inspire leadership…. If anyone asks I would say our trek with your organization was very professional, very well organized, easily adaptable to changes, and very enjoyable. It provided all the guidance, information and physical help necessary to make for an exceptionally wonderful experience… Thanks gain for a job well done and I hope to see you again soon…I will recommend your group to everyone and nayone who would go trekking in Nepal…….. Best regards….

Dear Babu, Time flies so fast. It has passed a month since we left Nepal, but we still talk a lot about it, and how we enjoyed our stay, thanks to you and your staff. The most memorable part was Annapurna circuit trek, the mountain scenery with the side trip to Tilicho lake and pass over Throng-la. It was just great! We also fondly remember our guide and porter, that made whole trek much more interesting and fun. So, thank you all, for our great time in Nepal. Also we wish Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 2012 to you personally, and to the whole Unique Path Trekking staff ! Best regards
