Machhapuchhre “Fish Tail” at 6,993 meters soaring high into the clear blue sky, one of the unclimbed and highly treasured peak which dominates Pokhara Valley and Southern Annapurna range.

Unique Path trek and climb to Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak leads to world’s best trekking destination in the heart of Annapurna Sanctuary surrounded by high peaks with fabulous scenery everyday during the trek and climb of Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak with two names, originally and locally as Singu Chuli, as the top of the peak resembles like a flute, so it was called as Fluted Peak as well.

Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak, Nepal’s 2nd highest trekking peak at 6, 501 meters high located within the Annapurna Sanctuary just a day trek to its base camp, it is less climbed trekking peaks the altitude positioned as per NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association) and the climbing grade classification PD + as per French / Swiss Alpine System which is widely used all over the world.

Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak first located in 1956 by Jimmy Roberts when he was exploring the area during a reconnaissance for the 1957 British Machhapuchhre Expedition.

It is situated in the Annapurna Himalayan range at the Gandaki Zone its location at 28 36 18 Latitude & 83 57 00 Longitude. The above peaks can be seen only from Sanctuary itself, is an attractive mountain; part of the ridge line, thrown south from Glacier Dome that includes and acts as a central divider between the semi-circles of peaks enclosing the Sanctuary. The peak is sometimes confused with Rakhsi Peak, a small summit and viewpoint above the normal high camp. This peak summit offers outstanding view almost all the peaks within the Annapurna range and its Sanctuary.

Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak climb with some technical difficulties in several section of the climb to the summit top, much care and precaution should be taken especially in snow conditions and new crevices.

This wonderful adventure starts with an interesting drive from Kathmandu on the main Nepal highway on the Kathmandu / Pokhara road with 6 hours of interesting journey to Pokhara a picturesque and world famous touristic spot with serene lakes Phewa, Begnas and Rupa Tal in the shade of snow capped mountains, then heading towards Ghandruk village after a short drive with scenic walk with climb to charming Gurung village at Ghandruk.

From here heading towards many traditional Gurung mid hill villages and of Tibetan Buddhism and trekking through farm with amazing scenery along the walk offering tremendous views of Annapurna, Gangapurna, Manaslu mountain range, walk leads into beautiful forest of rhododendron, pines and fir tree lines before heading towards barren and arid terrain landscape.

Unique Path adventure on reaching at Chomrong village the last permanent villages, from here there are lodges only to cater the trekkers, walk leads to deep gorge of raging Modi River following upstream into thick vegetation and tree lines and from Deurali onwards the tree lines fades to dry area. On reaching At Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 m after Maccahapuchare base camp where amphitheatre of mountains surround this sanctuary and base camp, then leaving the main trail for complete wilderness towards Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak base camp over Annapurna and Gangapurna glacier with boulders ice and moraine to reach the base of Singu Chuli / Fluted which is near to the base of Tent Peak, here with proper rest and acclimatization at 4, 450 m to make the climb successful Unique Path team will use one more camp as High Camp at 5, 260 meters high.

From the high camp with alluring panorama of entire Annapurna range including Manaslu and Lamjung Himal and Gangapurna, Maccahapuchare peak at close distance with fabulous views of the Sanctuary and beyond rolling hills and valley.

Before the Big Day! For the climb having rest day and preparations our expert guides will scout the area of climbing route to make it more accessible and safe for the groups.

Next day, starting the highlight of the trip to the top of Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak at 6, 501 m / 21,483 ft. Starting in the early morning to reach the top, our guide will lead and safe guard the way for the group. After a strenuous climb and successful climb to the summit of Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak with panorama of Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft) Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft). Annapurna Sanctuary & Base Camp stretching up to Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fish-tail) Base Camp.

Heading back to base camp and then on the scenic walk to Annapurna base camp in the comfort of cozy lodge after camping nights on climbing period.

Concluding this overwhelming adventure at Pokhara with different route of Jhinu danda with hot spring and to beautiful village of Landruk and to Pothana and then back to Pokhara after a short drive, Pokhara with serene Phewa Lake in the shade of high Annapurna Himalaya and Mt. Machhapuchhre “Fish Tail”

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. On reaching Kathmandu Tribhuvan international airport where you will be received by our Unique Path staff with hearty welcome and then transfer to respective hotels in the heart of Kathmandu around Thamel area, after refreshing break up, our Unique Path guide will inform on the program regarding hotel, Kathmandu sightseeing and of Khair / Kopra Ridge Panorama trek.
  • Day 02: In Kathmandu sightseeing and preparation for the trip. Morning, after breakfast our cultural, city guide will guide will lead you in and around Kathmandu at places of interest and importance, Kathmandu Valley is steeped in history, culture with World Heritage Sites of holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath (Little Tibet), Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) & monasteries, including old Royal Palaces and courtyard; after an interesting sightseeing back to hotel, afternoon preparation for the trip to Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak.
  • Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 950m - 06 hrs journey distance 220 k.m. Morning after breakfast, drive on tourist coach or by private vehicle to Pokhara on the busy scenic highway an interesting drive on the Himalayan foothills, on arrival at Pokhara transfer to respective hotels near the serene and beautiful Phewa Lake.
  • Day 04: Drive to Nayapul 1,100m begin trek to Ghandruk 1,860m. After a wonderful stay in the world’s popular tourist spot in Pokhara, morning a little than two hours drive leads away from the Pokhara valley, drive takes through mid hills towns and villages with superb views of landscapes and Annapurna mountain range including the majestic Mt. Machhapuchhre “ The Fish Tail” after an interesting two hours journey reaching at Nayapul (new bridge) located on the Pokhara-Baglung / Beni highway, from here our trek starts with a gradual walk through the nice village of Bhirethati here encountering trekkers, mule and donkey trains, our route leads following Modi River for few hours through farm lands and villages, waterfalls then with a climb on stone alsb steps to reach at Ghandruk village for the first night stay in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge after a day’s good walk of four hours.
  • Day 05: Trek to Chomrong 1,951m - 06 hours. After a nice stop at Ghandruk of Gurung tribe village walk leads uphill to Kimrong danda ridge and then descend to Kimrong valley through cool shade of a forest, after reaching Kimrong valley an uphill climb for another hour from here all the way to the top of Chomrong village, a short downhill walk to the overnight stop at Chomrong village, this is the last permanent Gurung village and the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp trekking.
  • Day 06: Trek to Dovan 2,130m via Bamboo 2,050m - 06 hours. After Chomrong today’s walk leads to a short downhill over the terraced farm fields and to the Chomrong river, after crossing the bridge an uphill for an hour to Sinuwa danda a small spot with few lodges offering great views of the surrounding landscapes and rolling green hills, from this place walking through cool dense forest till a place called Bamboo is reached, located by the Modi River in the middle of bamboo, rhododendron and oaks forest. From here an hour walk on the gradual up trail to Dovan for overnight stop, situated in the middle of forest Modi River gorge.
  • Day 07: Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp 3,720m via Deurali - 06 hrs. From here onwards the air gets cooler and fresher entering towards the Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp, walk leads on the gradual winding path with gentle ups to Himalaya Hotel near the Hinko Cave, right beneath of Huinchuli peak. From here walking on the glacier and moraine in the old avalanche area, after crossing a small bridge near at Deurali the last lodge before Machhapuchhre Base Camp, from here further vegetation and tree lines disappears with only high alpine bushes and shrubs, our route climbs following the Modi river upstream, the walk gets pleasant in some places then with steep up reaching at Maccahapuchare Base Camp for overnight stay. This place with four lodges located on the bottom of Mt. Maccahapuchare North Face, from here onwards within the Annapurna Sanctuary
  • Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4, 095m - 04 hours. After a wonderful morning with views of Annapurna mountain range starting a short walk to the base camp, morning walk on the grassy uphill slopes then reaching higher almost level ground near Annapurna Base Camp, morning walk with stunning views of close Annapurna peaks that circles the sanctuary facing Annapurna I. After a good scenic walk reaching at Annapurna Base Camp a magnificent spot with about three large lodges at present, offering tremendous awesome scenery of snow capped peaks that encircles around this lovely spot at base camp, afternoon at leisure to enjoy the mountain views. Annapurna area was first explored by the British Adventure Col. James O.M. 'Jimmy' Roberts in the year 1956 and exposed to the world as the 'Sanctuary of Gods'. The Sanctuary has been christened as "Annapurna Sanctuary" ever since.
  • Day 09: Rest day for acclimatization at Annapurna Base Camp. This rest day for acclimatization and to prepare for the climb of Tent peak, our guide will teach you some climbing techniques and skills, sharing all his knowledge, if you have any queries and confusion then, please do not hesitate to ask our guide, rest of the day just relax and marvel the awesome mountain views.
  • Day 10: Trek to Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak Base Camp 4,450 m - 05 hrs.

    After a pleasant time at Annapurna Base Camp our route leads to cross several snow-covered moraine rocky path, and then towards on icy trail for an hour reaching Annapurna south glacier. Walk offers fabulous views of high peaks, then after few hours of good trek reaching a flat area to set our base camp, the first night camping and in tents for Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak climb, afternoon at leisure preparation for the climb and acclimatization.

    Note: There are two routes to Singu Chuli base, from the back of Machhapuchhre base camp, while other the one we have used is from near Tent Peak and Rakshi Peak as safe and accessible for the climb of Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak Nepal’s 2nd highest trekking peak.

  • Day 11: Trek to High Camp 5,260 m / 17, 358 ft - 04 hrs. It is always best to add one more camps before the big haul to the summit top, from the base camp heading further with a steep climb along rocky and icy glacier with lot of boulders, climb continue to reach at high camp of 5,260 meters, afternoon free at leisure and preparation and checking the climbing gear for the summit bid with time to marvel the sunset views over the massif mountains.
  • Day 12: Rest day preparation for the climb and acclimatization. An important and necessary to have a rest day for better acclimatization, preparation for the climb and to check climbing equipments before the big day to the summit of Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak climb. While our expert guides will scout the area of the route for next morning safe climb and will fix ropes, and make necessary path as well to make it more accessible and quick climb.
  • Day 13: Climb Tent Peak summit and return to Base Camp - 06 hrs.

    A Big Day! An early morning climb on snow slope which is quite steep and some technical section to reach the summit; our expert guide will fix ropes where necessary for this strenuous climb to reach the summit, then finally reaching the top successfully, feeling on top of the world, where dream becomes reality.

    The climb leads to traverse round the skyline ridge, and reaching the plateau beneath the North East Face, from here it leads to a vertical wall of 122m, climbing to skirt a serac barrier leading to a steep step to a shelf which can be climbed easily beneath the gently fluted top section of the face and the upper portion of East Ridge, Then following without difficulty to the summit top, a striking scenery awaits you of all the giant snow capped within its Sanctuary and Mt.Machhapuchare in a mere close distance, after a wonderful time at the top descend back to Base Camp.

  • Day 14: Contingency day to maintain the climbing period / bad weather. We have reserved an extra day which will be as contingency day, in case of unfavorable weather conditions some times in this high Himalayan range, the weather can be unpredictable, so an extra day on this type of adventure is very necessary, if all goes well can be used on the way back to Pokhara with short day walk enjoying the great scenery along the way.
  • Day 15: Trek back to Annapurna Base Camp - 05 hrs. Morning after breakfast from the last camp, then cleaning up the base camp and packing gears, head back to Annapurna Base Camp via an icy trail, a normal moderate walk of about five hours to our overnight stop at Annapurna base camp.
  • Day 16: Trek to Bamboo 2,050 m - 06 hours. After a grand time at Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp, morning walk on the downhill path all the way to Deurali, then with few ups and downs with gradual winding trail in the serene forest and back to the tree lines to Bamboo for the overnight stay.
  • Day 17: Trek to Jhinu danda 1,700m via Chomrong 06 hours. From here a short steep up to Khuldi Ghar, then on the winding downhill path, through the dense forest to Sinuwa danda, from here walk descends to Chomrong khola. After the bridge an uphill walk for less than an hour reaching at Chomrong village for rest stop or lunch, after Chomrong with another up for half hour to the top of Chomrong ridge, then our route descends to Jhinu danda, for overnight stay, this place offers refreshing hot springs just 20 minutes walk downhill near Modi river.
  • Day 18: Trek to Pothana 1, 900 m - 05 hrs. At Jhinu with a good moment, morning walk on the downhill for an hour to Modi River, then over the bridge with gradual walk and a short climb reaches to Landruk village, after brief time here continue walk on the long winding trail through terraced farm fields and villages then reaching in a small cool forested area, from here an uphill walk for 40 minutes to Deurali ridge at 2,150 m. After Deurali a nice pleasant walk through forest with grand views of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Manaslu including the Fish Tail peak all the way to Pothana village is reached for overnight stay located in the middle of alpine forest with fantastic views of the snow capped mountains and valley.
  • Day 19: Trek to Kande and drive to Pokhara - 02 hrs. Morning with superb views leads to a short up through cool forest at Thulo Kharka also known as Australian Camp a wonderful spot in the midst of the forest with large meadows overlooking magnificent views of the Himalayan range of mountains, after a short break here the last hour walk an easy descend to Kande village on the road head that connects Baglung-Pokhara, from here an hour drive back to Pokhara after a wonderful time up in the high mountains.
  • Day 20: Drive back to Kathmandu - 06 hrs. Morning drive back to Kathmandu after a wonderful trip in the high mountains of Annapurna area, after reaching at Kathmandu transfer to respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure for relaxation and shopping around.
  • Day 21: Free day in Kathmandu for optional tours or individual activities. Unique Path reserved this as free day in Kathmandu a full rest day for individual activities or another sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu valley on request.
  • Day 22: International departure for home ward bound. After an exciting and memorable time in Nepal Himalaya and as per your international flight time, Unique Path staff transfer you to airport for your final departure for homeward bound or to respective countries.
