Mt. Gangapurna stands high at 7,455 meters, perched on the high Manang valley above the windswept Manang valley and towards extreme North of Annapurna mountain range, one of the least climbed mountains of Annapurna Himalayan range at Gandaki Zone its location at 28 36 18 Latitude & 83 57 00 Longitude.

Gangapurna can be seen from the foothills of the Annapurna range as far as to Pokhara, the mountain with white snow capped looks rather like a ridge than a peak from the southern face at Annapurna Sanctuary in between the Annapurna III 7555m and Tarke Kang 7193m the easy route to its summit of Gangapurna is from its Southern side at Manang Valley.

Gangapurna Peak climb with some technical difficulties in few section of the climbing route to the summit top, much care and precaution should be taken especially in snow conditions and new crevices.

This wonderful adventure to Mt. Gangapurna starts with an interesting drive from Kathmandu on the main Nepal highway for sometime on the Kathmandu / Pokhara road, and then heading towards Lamjung area at Beshisar town to reach the starting point of trek at Chamje village.

From here heading towards many traditional Manang villages and monasteries of strong Tibetan influence and trekking through farm and apple orchard country with amazing scenery along the walk offering tremendous views of Lamjung, Annapurna II, IV Gangapurna, Manaslu mountain range along with Pisang and Chulu’s Peaks the walk leads into beautiful forest of rhododendron, pines and fir tree lines before heading towards barren and arid terrain landscape.

Unique Path adventure on reaching at Pisang village after the big town of Chame where the vegetation and tree lines fades to dry area, walk reaches at Braga village with an old Buddhist monastery, a visit here is worthwhile with old artifacts and fresco with mind blowing views of Annapurna Himalaya North Face of A II, A IV, A III, Gangapurna, Tilicho peaks and of Chulu’s with Pisang Peak.

Reaching at Manang with rest day for acclimatization with short hike to Gangapurna ice falls and Manang emerald lake below the interesting village of Manang where the customs, traditions and religion similar to Tibet culture.

From Manang descend near Manang icy turquoise lake, leaving the main trail for complete wilderness towards Gangapurna base camp passing the, on reaching the base at 4,500 Meters after 3 to 4 hours uphill with small forested area of firs, pines and rhododendron trees.

Gangapurna peak rise high above the Manang valley with breathtaking views across to the Annapurna II, III and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak and Manaslu and then ascending high above Marshyangdi valley.

The climb is technically straightforward and, you should be familiar with the use of your equipment, crampons, harness, ice axe, tying knots and handling climbing ropes. Most of the climbing will be involved walking roped together, including the glacial crossings. You should be very fit and have good experience of climbing.

After a great and adrenaline climb to the summit with tremendous support of Unique Path expert mountaineering guides with mind blowing views of surrounding high valley of Manang including view of Annapurna Sanctuary and towering surrounding peaks, descent back to base camp for clean up and packing and then heading back to Pokhara via Jomsom over Thorang-la pass for the scenic flight to Pokhara and then to Kathmandu after an overwhelming adventure and with experience of a life time with great team of staff support and management of Unique Path Treks & Expeditions.

  • Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.
  • Day 2-3: In Kathmandu sightseeing tour and preparation.
  • Day 4: Drive to Chamje 1,630 m via Beshishar 800 m - 08 hrs journey.
  • Day 5: Trek to Dharapani 1,920m - 05 hours.
  • Day 6: Trek to Chame 2,670 m - 06 hours.
  • Day 7: Trek to Pisang village 3,300 m - 05 hrs.
  • Day 8: Trek to Manang 3,520 m - 05 hrs.
  • Day 9: Rest day Manang for acclimatization and local hike.
  • Day 10: Trek to Gangapurna Base Camp 4,500 m.- 04 hrs.
  • Day 11: At Gangapurna Base Camp for acclimatization.
  • Day 12: Climb to Advance Camp 5,730 m - 05 hrs.
  • Day 13: At Advance Base Camp preparation for the climb.
  • Day 14-28: Climbing period to the summit of Gangapurna.
  • Day 29: At Base Camp packing and clean up of the Base Camp.
  • Day 30: Trek to Manang - 05 hrs.
  • Day 31: Thorang High Camp 4,800 m - 06 hrs
  • Day 32: Cross Thorang-la 5,416 m trek to Muktinath 3,850 m - 06 hrs.
  • Day 33: Trek to Jomsom 2,715 m - 04 hrs.
  • Day 34: Fly to Pokhara and transfer to hotel near Phewa Lake side.
  • Day 35: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
  • Day 36-37: In Kathmandu at leisure and to submit expeditions report.
  • Day 38: International departure to respective countries.
