Tansen is a municipality in the Palpa district in western Nepal. Situated in the parkway in the middle of Butwal and Pokhara, on the peak of the Mahabharat range. Tansen is the capital of the Magar kingdom Tanahun. It is a hill town, high above the Kaligandaki River. Similarly, the narrow winding streets in Tansen are full of Newari shops, temples, hotels, as well as houses.
