Jungle Safari Related Info:

Established in 1984, this park is situated in Nepal’s western Terai. It covers 968 sq. km. The park offers a variety of experiences in its vast undisturbed wilderness. About 70% of the forest consists of sal trees (which are used for the beautifully carved windows in Kathmandu) with a mixture of grass land and riverine forest. The park is home to endangered animals such as the Bengal tiger, wild elephant, greate. One-horned rhinoceros, swamp deer, and black buck. Other endangered species include gharial crocodile, marsh mugger and Gangetic dolphin, 200 species of birds and several species of snakes can also be seen in the park. Certain ethnic groups live in the park as well and you can experience their culture and traditions

When To Visit?
The best time to visit Chitwan National Park, and Bardia National Park is from October through March, when the temperature averages 25 degrees Celsius. The months of March, April and June can be extremely hot, while July - September is the monsoon season when river swell and part of the become inaccessible.

What To Bring?
Binoculars, Flashlight, Insect repellent, A jacket or sweater from November through February. Lightest clothing with sunglasses and hats from April onwards. Pants should be worn during elephant rides. Bright colors such as red and white should be avoided since those colors have been known to upset the rhinos. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. Please carry only the bare necessities but not jewellery and valuable items. During the warmer months swimming suits are recommended.

How To Get There?
I/ By surface: A pleasant five hours drive by car or bus on the Kathmandu - Narayanghat highway follows the Trishuli river offering you a continually changing landscape from the mountains of the Himalayas to the plains of the Terai.

II/ By raft: One of the most exciting way to travel to the park is to raft down the Trishuli River. For two or more days you can float down the river experiencing its numerous rapid and seeing a variety of village life, flora aned fauna along its banks.

III/ By air: 20 min. flight will bring you from Kathmandu to Bharatpur where you will be met by our staff and transfer to the resort.
