A delightful and enjoyable adventure on Tsum Valley Trekking where you will be amidst giant peaks of massive bulk of Ganesh Himal also called Yangri in local language of Tibetan origin with world's 8th highest Manaslu towards west directions within the hidden country of Tsum Valley.

Tsum the valley, in Tibetan language known as "Beyul Kyimolung” meaning 'Valley of Happiness', truly a marvelous and spectacular high country which extends as far to Tibetan border towards north beyond our main destination at Mu Gompa.

Tsum Valley Trekking which was closed for many centuries for foreign travelers, now the door has been opened since the end of 1998 for interested trekkers and adventurer to witness its hidden treasures of ancient fascinating culture and traditional way of life of Tsum people and its old impressive monasteries.

Truly a great destinations which leads you 'off the beaten trails' away from mainstream trekking routes, where you will be in complete wilderness around remote and beautiful isolated villages surrounded by high peaks of Ganesh-Manaslu with Sringi Himal towards north.

Our fabulous walk leads after an exciting drive from Kathmandu heading towards warm and rich cultivated valley and terraces of paddies, and then following raging Burigandaki River for few days, and then into high and hidden country around Tsum Valley with incredible views of snow clad peaks within its interesting culture and heritage of Tibetan Buddhism religions and similar traditions and way of life.

At Tsum with ample time to explore its pristine beautiful areas around Mu and Rachen monasteries within friendly villages and then heading back to warmer areas of Gorkha district at Soti-Khola and Arughat for the drive to Kathmandu, after a wonderful experience on Tsum Valley Trekking.

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu from respective airlines and transfer to hotels.
  • Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
  • Day 03: Drive to Soti-Khola 730 m via Arughat- 07 hrs
  • Day 04: Trek to Machha-Khola 930m - 06 hrs
  • Day 05: Trek to Jagat 1,410m - 06 hrs
  • Day 06: Trek to Lakuwa 2,2400m - 05 hrs
  • Day 07: Trek to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hours.
  • Day 08: Trek to Chokhan-Paro 3,010 m - 05 hours.
  • Day 09: Trek to Nele 3,361m after a visiting Milarepa cave - 07 hours.
  • Day 10: Trek to Mu Gompa 3,700 m - 04 hours.
  • Day 11: Rest day at Mu Gompa visit local village and monastery.
  • Day 12: Trek to Rachen Gompa 3,240 m - 05 hours.
  • Day 13: Trek back to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hours.
  • Day 14: Trek to Philim 1,590 m - 07 hours.
  • Day 15: TTrek to Tatopani (Hot Spring) - 06 hours..
  • Day 16: Trek to Soti-Khola 7 30 m - 06 hours.
  • Day 17: Drive to Kathmandu -07 hrs and transfer to hotel.
  • Day 18: International departure homeward bound.

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels. On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, where our guide and office staff will receive you with warm welcome and then transfer to your hotels in the heart of Kathmandu city around Thamel areas, the tourist hub of Nepal. At Thamel you can find all your needs and requirements for the trek with excellent international standard hotels and restaurants with many shops and stores. After getting refresh meet our guide with other members of Tsum Valley Trekking, and then our guide will provide information and briefing regarding the trek, hotels and much more with evening welcome dinner in an authentic Nepalese restaurant with cultural programs.
  • Day 02: In Kathmandu with tour and trek preparations. We have allowed a free day in Kathmandu, where you can enjoy sightseeing tour around places of interest as Kathmandu valley steep with historical and famous world heritage sites Pashupatinath a Hindu Temple, Bouddhanath (Little Tibet) visit the huge Buddhist Stupa, (tour might include either Kathmandu old Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Stupa located on a hill lock as set on the program and time permitting) Afternoon free for individual activities and trek preparations.
  • Day 03: Drive to Soti-Khola 730 m via Arughat- 07 hrs Tsum Valley trekking starts with an exciting long overland drive on Nepal’s busy highway to reach at Dhading Bhesi a large town headquarters of Dhading district, after Dhading heading to Arughat town near River Burigandaki. Arughat, a main village of Gorkha district with many shops and stores, where villagers of surrounding Gorkha and Dhading areas visit for shopping local commodities. From Arughat our drive continues on rough dirt jeep tracks following the raging Burigandaki River upstream to reach our first overnight stop at Soti-Khola, a small farm village slowly developing into town due access of motorable road.
  • Day 04: Trek to Machha-Khola 930m - 06 hrs. From this village, starting our walk following Buri Gandaki River upstream through many farm villages, crossing over Nuali khola with views of waterfalls and then cross a stream to Machha Khola for overnight stop which means “Fish stream”.
  • Day 05: Trek to Jagat 1,410m - 06 hrs. After pleasant overnight at Macha-Khola, morning walk follows Buri-Gandaki River upstream, to reach Khorla Beshi a small farm village from here on winding path to reach at Tatopani village with “Hot Spring,” an opportunity for hot bathe as time allows. After a nice rest walk carries on passing Dovan and Yaruphant villages to reach at Jagat for overnight stops, Jagat a moderate size farm villages with shops and stores.
  • Day 06: Trek to Lakuwa 2,2400m - 05 hrs. From Jagat, morning walk leads to higher areas passing scattered farm villages with short climb and downhill to cross over a bridge to reach at Nagjet and Philim, a large village with spread-out farm houses. After Philim walk through farm terraces of golden fields of wheat’s and barley, then a climb on rocky ridge top into bamboo forest area to our overnight stop at Lakuwa on leaving the main trail of Manaslu trekking route.
  • Day 07: Trek to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hours. After Lakuwa village and leaving the Burigandkai River for a week, our walk heads towards Tsum valley into the valley of happiness, as our route enters narrow gorge then with short descend and uphill climb into rhododendron and pine tree forest walking past small farm villages then climbing above Lungwa Khola to reach at Chumling village for first overnight in Tsum Valley.
  • Day 08: Trek to Chokhan-paro 3,010 m - 05 hours. From here altitude slowly gains with the mountain views of Ganesh Himal peaks, as the villages and landscapes looks similar to Tibetan windswept plateau. Morning walks with downhill to cross a bridge over Smatiking Khola, with views of Ganesh Himal also known as Yangra at 7,422 m high, walk slowly leads at Chokhan-paro village for overnight stop.
  • Day 09: Trek to Nele 3,361m after a visiting Milarepa cave - 07 hours. After Chokan-paro heading closer at upper Tsum area to Nele (Ne-lay) starting with a climb onto open valley and windswept country with few small trees that survives around this arid terrain. Walk continues uphill with views of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal, after a pleasant walk reach at Nele on the way with visit to an old cave of 11th Centaury Saint Milarepa famous and popular among Buddhist as poet, singer, tantric guru his folk-tales and songs are still remembered by Tibetans and Buddhist alike.
  • Day 10: Trek to Mu Gompa 3,700 m - 04 hours. Morning walk starts on reaching the highest point at Mu Gompa and main destination of this adventure, as the walk continues to climb on high arid terrain offering views of high peaks on the way to Mu Gompa for overnight stop.
  • Day 11: Rest day at Mu Gompa to explore the local village and monastery. At Mu Gompa free day to explore the unexplored areas around high valley of Tsum visit its traditional villages and interesting old Mu Gompa with ancient antique scrolls, statue and relics this is one of the most important monastery of Tsum and Manaslu area. The village of upper Tsum located on route Tibet border, which is least frequented by other trekkers and adventurer, here enjoy the scenery and culture in complete of natural surrounding within total bliss.
  • Day 12: Trek to Rachen Gompa 3,240 m - 05 hours. After an interesting and marvelous time at Mu Gompa, our return journey leads to another impressive monastery at Rachen Gompa, walking on nice trails with some short climbs and downs passing few small scattered farm villages of cattle herders to reach at Rachen Gompa for overnight stop, afternoon visit Rachen monastery which treasures historical and religious artifacts and important statues of famous Gurus with idol of Sakaymuni Buddha.
  • Day 13: Trek back to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hours. Today our last day around Tsum valley, as the morning walk leads to a long descend to Chumling village passing farm areas and then back into tree lines, after a long downhill walk of 6 hours reaching at Chumling village for last overnight stop around Tsum.
  • Day 14: Trek to Philim 1,590 m - 07 hrs From Chumling village, morning walk downhill following river downstream with views of waterfalls then reaching villages of Samba, Tingding Chhupyang till our walk ends at Philim village for overnight stop. This is a nice farm village with school supported by Japanese (as Mt. Manaslu was first climbed by Japanese so this area is a favorite among Japanese)
  • Day 15: Trek to Tatopani 1, 240 m - 06 hours. From here onwards on warmer area with paddy fields, after a breakfast walk leads to Tatopani following Buri Gandaki River through several small villages of Nagjet, Sidibas Bazaar and Jagat. Walk further descends at Yaruphant, then to lower area with dramatic change in vegetation, finally ending six hours walk to our overnight stop at Tatopani a small farm village with hot spring as Tatopani in Nepali means 'hot water', afternoon enjoy the hot springs and relax. The local believes that the spring water have a natural power to cure various disease and wounds.
  • Day 16: Trek to Soti Khola 730 m - 06 hours. After a nice time at Tatopani and hot spring, morning walk leads to Soti Khola walking along the Budhi Gandaki River downstream, after hours of good walk reaching at Gurung village of Labubesi, from here walk further through terraced fields and waterfalls to reach our last overnight stop at Soti-khola.
  • Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu via Arughat - 07 hrs. With marvelous time around high Tsum valley and pleasant overnight in Soti-Khola village, last day around Nepal Mid West Himalaya, early morning an interesting overland drive to Kathmandu following Burigandaki River downstream heading towards Arughat and Gorkha area, as the drive continues to Kathmandu past Dhading district leading on a good road most of the way to Kathmandu, with time for leisure break and shopping.
  • Day 18: International departure to respective countries. Last day in Nepal with amazing Himalayan experience, as time for your international flight our staff transfers you back at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport for your homeward bound flight or to respective countries, after a memorable time and experience around Nepal Himalaya with Tsum Valley Trekking.
