Short Description of Annapurna Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking
Ghorepani Poonhill trek is a colourful short foray into the Annapurna region. The trail winds through patchwork valleys, dense mossy forests and past icy waterfalls where you can stop to cool your face. Around every corner is a tantalizing glimpse of the high mountains, whole horizons of which will be revealed to you as you reach the high points of your trek.

This trek in the Annapurna foothills to the view point on Poon Hill offers all the best of trekking in Nepal. Enjoy trekking in the spectacular mountain scenery through charming villages inhabited by the Gurungs, Magars dense rhododendron forests full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys, all set below the Annapurnas with the picturesque peak of Machhapuchhare (Fish Tail Peak) dominating the skyline. At the climax of this trek you will climb Poon Hill at dawn to enjoy one of the most spectacular mountain scapes on Earth. As the sun touches the snow-capped summits the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m) along with a maze of other peaks, slowly begin to appear, like magic, before our eyes. A rewarding trek that can be enjoyed by every lover of nature and beautiful landscape.

 

Ghorepani Poonhill Trek

General Itinerary :

Day 01/ Katmandu (1310m/4298ft).Arrive in Nepal and visit our office for details information. O/N at hotel, B & B plan

Day 02/  02 Kathmandu to Pokhara(910m/2986ft.)
Breakfast. Our Trekking guide will come at the Hotel an early morning at 6:30 am to pick you up and we walk from hotel about 10 minutes to get bus station.
Our bus leave at 7 am to Pokhara.

We drive to Pokhara by tourist bus, enjoying an afternoon sightseeing on the lakeside and boating at Phewa lake. From Kathmandu to Pokhara, it is about 206km and it takes 6 hours. O/N at Base camp resort or Hotel Kantipur

Day 03/  Drive to Naya Pul (New bridge), and trek to Tikhe Dhunga(1495m/4905ft).
Breakfast. After an hour drive to Naya Pul we then commence our trek to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town beside the Modi River. We head up the main trail to Sudami where we climb gradually up the side of the valley, reaching Hile (1495m) before pushing on to Tirkhe Dhunga. From here the trail crosses a stream and then ascends a steep stone staircase to the large Magar village at Ulleri (2070m). 3:30 hours. Indra guest house or Chandra guest house.

Day 04/  Trek to Ghorepani (2850m/9350ft).
This is a pleasant walking day today. We trek through rhododendron and oak forests and across streams before making a short, final climb to Nangethanti. From Nangethanti we head up to Ghorepani (2850m). 5:30 hours. O/N at Sunny lodge or Poonhill guest house.

Day 05/  Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani (2520m/8268ft).
An early start and an hour hiking to Poon Hill (3195m) leads us to a brilliant spectacle, this vantage point provides an unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas. After spending about 40 minutes on the hillside, we come back to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast, and start walking to Tadapani. From Ghorepani the trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali (2960m). We descend to reach Banthanti, before winding our way to Tadapani (2540m). 6 hours. O/N at Hotel Panorama or Hotel Grand view.

Day 06/  Tadapani to Ghaundrung (1950m/6398ft).
Our descent brings us to the village of Ghaundrung around noon. We will overnight here so have the afternoon to visit the Annapurna conservation office and museum. As well as take time to explore the village. 2:30 hours

Day 07-08/  Ghaundrung to Pokhara via Pothana(1910m/6266ft) and Phedi (910m/2986ft)
Our last two days of trekking take us through the village of Pothana (2110m) before reaching Phedi (950m). On arrival in Phedi, mid morning, our bus meets us before driving to Pokhara where our trek ends. 5:30 hours

Day 09/  Pokhara to Kathmandu.
Drive back to kathmandu from pokhara. It is about 4Km away from hotel and takes 5 minutes. The plane takes 25 minutes to get to Kathmandu. And we drive to hotel. The tour will end on arrival in Kathmandu.

Day 10/  Departure from Nepal.

How can I enter in Nepal?
Nepal is a popular tourist destination in south Asia. Several airlines have direct and non-stop flights from Middle East and Asia to Kathmandu, Capital of Nepal.

Can I do Ghorepani Poonhill trek?
Annapurna base camp trek is suitable for any walker looking for something a little more challenging and energetic. It does not require that you have any previous trekking or mountaineering experience. Although, daily jugging or walking exercise is useful and you need to be in good physical condition and able to walk for 5-6 hours daily.

When should I come for
Ghorepani Poonhill trek?
February, March, April, May, June, September, October, November are the best seasons. However, July & August are okay and trekking can be done but not so clear visibility due to rain.
 

Can I join with group?
Yes, you can join with group, we guarantees a series of fixed group departures dates for Ghorepani Poonhill trek. We can arrange small group trekking trip to suit your requirements. Please for group departure dates.

Do I need to join with group?
It is not necessary that you need to follow our fixed group departures dates, because private trip departs every day upon your request which are best suited to couples, families and small groups of friends. We are happy to organize your holiday according by your selecting starting date.

Do you also offer Tailor-made Departures?
Yes, we do offer Tailor-made Departures, if our holiday's tours are not perfect or the group departure dates are not convenient as per your travel plan.

What kind of accommodation I can have during the trip?
In Kathmandu, we do provide 3 stars hotel in Kathmandu and during the trekking, we provide you guest house which is called Tea house. Tea Houses are more like hotels, with hot showers, western food, and private rooms (twin sharing). In this arrangement overnight halts with dinner and breakfast will be in Tea-houses (Lodges) and lunches in local restaurants en-route.

Furthermore as you will be staying in locally owned lodges you will be benefiting and interacting with the local community. It will give you a true feel for the Nepalese people and their lives.

What kind of meals I can have during the trip?
 All Meals on full board basis will be provided during trekking. Freshly cooked food is served at all times (western, continental and Nepali meals are available in all places). Three meals a day will be provided.

Do I have pre-departure meeting?
Yes, at first, our staff will receive you at the airport and transfer to the hotel and our tour leader will brief regarding about the trip. The briefing will cover the itinerary and introduced your trek Leader.

Can I charge camera batteries along the trek?
Yes, Most of the places, you can charge batteries along the trek (per hour USD 2-3 for charging).

Is someone going to meet me at the airport? Are transfers included?
Yes, our Airport Representative will come to the airport to pick you up. We will be displaying a play card of Unique Path trekking company with your name on it. Airport transfer is included.

Can I extend my holiday?
Ghorepani Poonhill trek can extend and there are many options and choices to extend your holiday before or after your main trip. Following trips are suggested for your holiday extensions.
